SHORT SURAHS FOR NAMAAZ
Surah Al-Qadr
Bismil-laahir Rahmaan nir Raheem
Innaa anzalnaahu fee Laylatil-Qadr
Wama adraaka maa Laylatul-Qadr
Laylatul-Qadri khairum-min alfi shahr
Tanazzalul-Malaa'ikatu war-Roohu feehaa bi-idhni Rabbihim-min kulli amr
Salaamun Hiya hattaa matla'il-Fajr
In the name of Allah Ta'ala, The Most Compassionate, The Most Merciful
Undoubtedly, We revealed it (Qur'aan) in the Night of Power
And what will tell you what the Night of Power is?
The Night of Power is better than a thousand months
The angels and the spirit (Jibraeel) descend in it by the Command of their Lord, for every affair
It is all-peaceful until the rising of the dawn
Surah Al-Asr
Bismil-laahir Rahmaan nir Raheem
Wal-'Asri
Innal-Insaana lafee khusrin
Illal-latheena aamanoo wa Aamilus-s'alihati, wa tawasaw bil-haqqi, wa tawasaw bis-sabr
In the name of Allah Ta'ala, The Most Compassionate, The Most Merciful
I swear by the time (of My Beloved Prophet)
Verily man is in a state of loss
Except those who believe and do righteous deeds, and (those) who exhort one another to accept truth, (those who) counsel one another to be patient
Surah Al-Feel
Bismil-laahir Rahmaan nir Raheem
Alam tara kayfa fa'aala Rabbuka bi-as-hahaabil-feel
Alam yaj'aal kaydahum fee tadleelin
Wa arsala 'Alayhim tayran ababeel
Tarmeehim bi-hijaratin-min sijjeel
Faja 'Aalahum ka'aasfim makool
In the name of Allah Ta'ala, The Most Compassionate, The Most Merciful
(O Beloved) Have you not seen how your Lord dealt with the companions of the elephant?
Did He not cause their device to fail?
And He sent on them swarms of birds
Striking them with stones of baked clay
And thus made them like broken straw, eaten up (as chaff)
Surah Al-Quraish
Bismil-laahir Rahmaan nir Raheem
Li-eelafi qurayshin
Eelafihim rihlatash-shita'I was-sayf
Fal-yaa'budu Rabba haadal-bayt
Allathee' at'ahm min juu'inw-wa 'aamanahum-min khawf
In the name of Allah Ta'ala, The Most Compassionate, The Most Merciful
Because of the attachment of the Quraish
(Allah) kept them attached in their journeys during winter and summer
So they should worship the Lord of this House (the Ka'bah)
Who has fed them against hunger and secured them from a big fear
Surah Al-Ma'oon
Bismil-laahir Rahmaan nir Raheem
Ara-aytalladhi yukdhdhibu bid-deen
Fa-dhaalikal-ladhi yaduaaaul-yateem
Wala yahuddu 'aala ta'aam-il-miskeen
Fa-waylul Lil-musaleen
Alladhina hum 'aan salatihim sahoon
Alladhina hum yuraa-una
Wa yamna 'un-al ma'oon
In the name of Allah Ta'ala, The Most Compassionate, The Most Merciful
Well, have you seen him who belies the Religion
That is he who drives away the orphan
And does not urge the feeding of the needy
So curse to be to those offering Salaah
Who are neglectful of their Salaah
Those who show it (to others)
And refuse to give daily articles of use (to the needy ones)
Surah Al-Kauthar
Bismil-laahir Rahmaan nir Raheem
Inna 'aatainakal-kawthar
Fa-salli Li Rabbika wanhar
Inna Shaani 'aka huwal-abtar
In the name of Allah Ta'ala, The Most Compassionate, The Most Merciful
(O Beloved Muhammad) Undoubtedly, We have bestowed upon you an abundance of good.
So offer Salaah to your Lord and offer sacrifice
Verily, your enemy is deprived of every good
Surah Al-Kafiroon
Bismil-laahir Rahmaan nir Raheem
Qul yaa-ayyuhal-kafiroon
Laa 'aabudu ma ta'budoon
Wala antum 'Aabidoona maa a'bud
Wala ana 'Aabidum-ma 'Aabattum
Wala antum 'Aabidoona maa a'bud
Lakum Deenukum wa li-ya deen
In the name of Allah Ta'ala, The Most Compassionate, The Most Merciful
Please declare (O beloved Muhammad) 'O infidels'
I do not worship that which you worship
Nor do you worship that whom I worship
And I shall never worship what you worship
And nor will you worship that whom I worship
(Therefore) To you your religion and for me my religion
Surah An-Nasr
Bismil-laahir Rahmaan nir Raheem
Idhaa Ja 'Aa Nasurllahi wal-fathu
Wa ra-aytannaasa yadhkhuloona fee deenil lahi afwaaja
Fa 'sabbih bi-hamdi Rabbika wastagfirh innahu kaana tawwaaba
In the name of Allah Ta'ala, The Most Compassionate, The Most Merciful
When the help of Allah and victory comes
And you see people entering the Religion of Allah in troops
Then celebrate the praise of your Lord and seek His forgiveness. Surely He is most Relenting
Surah Al-Lahab
Bismil-laahir Rahmaan nir Raheem
Tabbat yadaa abee Lahabinw-wa tabb
Maa aghnaa 'Aanhu maaluhu wa maa kasab
Sa-yaslaa Naaran dhaata Lahabinw
Wamraa'tuh; hammaalatal-hatab
Fee jeediha hablum-mim-masad
In the name of Allah Ta'ala, The Most Compassionate, The Most Merciful
The hands of Abu Lahab (the father of flame) have perished, and he too has perished.
His wealth and what he earned did not profit him
Soon shall he enter into a blazing fire
And his wife too, the carrier of firewood
Around her neck shall be a rope of twisted fibre
Surah Al-Ikhlaas
Bismil-laahir Rahmaan nir Raheem
Qul Huwal Laahu Ahad
Allahus-samad
Lam yalid Walam yoolad
Walam yakul-la-hu kufuwan ahad
In the name of Allah Ta'ala, The Most Compassionate, The Most Merciful
Please declare: Allah is One and the Only
Allah is independent from every need
He begot none, nor was He begotten (from anyone)
And there is none equal to Him
Surah Al-falaq
Bismil-laahir Rahmaan nir Raheem
Qul a'oodhu bi-Rabbil-Falaq
Min sharri maa khalaq
Wamin sharri ghaasiqin idhaa waqab
Wamin sharrin-naffaathaati fil-'uqad
Wamin sharri haasidin idha hasad
In the name of Allah Ta'ala, The Most Compassionate, The Most Merciful
Please declare: I take refuge with the Lord of the Daybreak
From the mischief of all creatures created by Him
And from the evil of the darkness when it sets in
And from the evil of those women who blow on the knots
And from the evil of the envier when he envies (me)
Surah An-Naas
Bismil-laahir Rahmaan nir Raheem
Qul a'oodhu bi-Rabbin-Naas
Malikin-Naas Ilaahin-Naas
Min sharril-waswaasil-khannaas
Al-ladhee yuwaswisu fee sudoorin-Naasi
Minal-Jinnati wan-Naas
In the name of Allah Ta'ala, The Most Compassionate, The Most Merciful
Please declare: I (Muhammad) seek refuge with the Lord of mankind
The King of mankind
The God of mankind
From the evil of him who whispers evil designs in the hearts and slinks away
Those who whisper in the hearts of mankind
From among jinn and mankind
