Prophet Muhammad said, 'All sins that are committed within one week from one Friday to another Friday will be forgiven to those who after making ablution in order to come for Namaaz e Juma and listen to the sermon (khutba) silently'.

(Muslim, Abu Dawood, Tirmizee, Ibne Majah)

Hazrat Maula Ali(Radi Allaahu Anhu) narrates that Prophet Muhammad said, 'those who say 'keep silent' to their friends during the Juma sermon, have indulged in a foolish job and for them there is no reward (sawab) on that Juma'.
